One team is very clearly going to be in this conversation, and per my source may already be talking to the Penguins regarding this..The LA Kings. The Kings could offer up their first round pick and some serious prospects...or they could try and swap Drew Doughty PLUS to land Malkin...

This would be moronic.

Doughty Plus for a 33 yr old center Wouldn't the Kings want to get younger since they are already loaded with guys in their mid 30's??

I'm pretty sure EK does a cut-and-paste with the off-season Malkin stuff.

Really? This is the first time I've ever heard Ek mention a Malkin trade rumour.

Malkin should be a Red Wing. Half team is over 30. He can be a key cog in Holland's fake rebuild.

They were talking about this yesterday on the Buffalo radio show the Instigators and they even mentioned the Kings

If we're talking seriously about teams that would be a proper fit for Malkin? Teams trending up that are on the verge of becoming playoff teams or just barely made the playoffs.

-Montreal
-Arizona
-Florida
-Vancouver
-Dallas
-Buffalo

He would fit well in those teams, but obviously not all of those teams can afford him and well you know... HE'S NOT GETTING TRADED!

Funny, our beat writer said yesterday that he and Crosby were the only two untouchables on the team, but obviously I trust Ek.

What if Malkin wanted to be traded? Not saying he does but if so why wouldn't they consider it? Those two aren't getting any younger.

Just using the Kings as an example....am i the only one who thinks it wouldn't need to be Doughty plus for Malkin. Like I think Doughty is way more valuable then Malkin.

Granted I’m going by Rossi who’s not super reliable either haha. Rossi said Sid and Geno are untouchable and Guentzel and Murray are near untouchable.

"And for years Malkin has gone along with that. However, when Crosby has missed time and Malkin was raised to "Ace Status" he has shown another level that he simply doesn't give when he is playing behind Crosby...For whatever reason this is true."

Very true of Geno... until this season. For the first time, it did NOT happen this season.

In a situation as delicate as this, any information is speculative, as the Pens would be foolish to offer otherwise. All the radio and writer guys are forced to fill time and space (no pun intended). Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

If Malkin was traded. I think I could see Florida as a fit especially if Bobrovsky and Panarin want to head there.

Penquuins could try to get back Trocheck and maybe Yandle and Hoffman but will probably try to have Johnson go the other way. Florida will need to make sure they have money for Panarin and Bob if they do want to go to Florida.
